Accident Investigation and Forensic Engineering

Forensic engineering analysis and litigation support with a primary focus on accident causation analysis, identification of systems failures, and the issues of foreseeability and preventability is a key area of expertise within SAFE.

 

Although some accidents can be easily attributed to a single cause, most are characterised by a complex chain of events leading up to the commencement of damage.

 

SAFE Principal Consultants are experienced in all facets of complex investigations and are frequently engaged by legal firms, industry groups, and corporations to prepare complex analytical reports in support of matters, many of which are being litigated.

 

SAFE Principal Consultants have over 20 years of applied engineering, safety engineering, and human factors practice in the area of safety systems, and are qualified to provide evidence in Local, Coroners, District and the Industrial Magistrates Court to assist the courts in determining issues of liability.

 

From the study of accidents and engineering failures over the years and the historical experience from our internal research and published literature, we are able to evaluate your scenario and events surrounding an incident in order to assist you in determining causation and the essential and contributing factors associated with the incident.
